DARK GIRLS

You are invited to a lecture and special viewing of the new documentary film, “Dark Girls” from directors, Bill Duke and D. Channsin Berry, which explores the deep-seated biases and attitudes about skin color—-particularly dark skinned women, outside of and within the Black American culture. This film will be released in Fall/Winter 2011

.COLUMBIANA
A young woman (Saldana) who, after witnessing her parents' murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target: the mobster responsible for her parents' death.
Scheduled to be in theaters August 26, critics are already claiming that this is a rip off of Kill Bill............ While on the other hand Dominican women are praising Zoe Saldana  for her representation of a dark skin Dominican woman on the big screen.

Check out the official Columbiana movie trailer and let us hear your thoughts, Will this be another "monsters ball"???? What do you think?????

After watching those few seconds of the trailer, I am in awe and cannot wait for to see this movie. Monster's Ball?? Hmmm, more like Monster's Ball meet Tomb Raider in my opinon. However we have watched Saldana grow and evolve on the big screen over the years and not only are the Dominicans but WE are proud of our Sis as well.
